It's a good time to pray for terrorist victims!

Since the Board of Education will no longer be providing video-taping for cablecast (effective July, 2002), suspended delivery of the "Molalla River Reporter" and stopped communication with the "Educational Ambassadors" (September, 2002) I have tried to provide information regarding education concerns for interested persons:

Chair Janette Palmer called the meeting of the Molalla River School District Board of Education to order at 7:03 p.m. and established that a quorum was present.

Facilities Use Policy
The agenda for this work session was to review tile current facility use policy and to develop a policy that the entire Board could support.

Chair Palmer stated that the Board must be cautions not to change the policy because of one
organization. Any changes must be made in the best interest of the district and all organizations.

After extensive discussion and review of the current fee schedule, the following recommendations were
made:

Change Lighted/Varsity Athletic Fields column to Varsity Athletic Facilities (includes Capasso
Court). The fee will be changed from $75/2 hours to $35/2 hours.

Add a column for Lights - Categories 6-11 will be required to pay for lights if used (determine flat fee for 2 hour minimum)

Add language to administrative rule that address in-kind service/fundraising that would be applied against fees charged.

All applicants will be charged for setup and tear down time.

In-district applicants are defined as a group whose participants are substantially from within Molalla River School District.

The application fee to remain at $15.00

Dr. Ericksen addressed Mr. Clarke's previous concern with the use of the kitchen. Dr. Ericksen explained that the stipulation is imposed by the health department for the safety and welfare of the public. This is why kitchen facilities may be used only under the supervision of a regularly employed cafeteria worker, other district employee and/or representative approved by the unit manager (Sodexho)

ADJOURN
There being no further business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
