Native American spirituality has contributed much to our
understanding of our place and purpose in life. These are some *spiritual
principles, borrowed from them, which may contribute to reaching spiritual
harmony with our brothers and sisters while recognizing that we all share a
common Father...one who is greater than all of His children:
-
Health - Spiritual, mental, and physical health is the
foundation of accomplishing any of the other principles. I must strive
to do what will continue to bring wisdom and strength to my body, mind, and
spirit.
-
Generations - I must bring honor to the generations that
precede me so that the generations that follow will not have to overcome the
wreckage of my dishonorable behavior.
-
Silence - I must learn to be silent,
not only to be quiet but to listen, and know the presence
and existence of God. To meditate upon thanksgiving and planning the
paths that will bring glory to God.
Happiness - I must
seek to do the things that will bring happiness to others and too myself.
-
Kindness - I must always be willing to lend a hand to those less
fortunate than I, and to demonstrate my love of my fellow man by offering
prayers to my Father, God.
-
Power - I must learn, and apply the power of the these
spiritual principles that I may do the will of my Father, God.
-
Respect - In all my
affairs I must treat each and every person and all things with the respect
and esteem that is appropriate to one of God's creations.
