Afghanistan
is being pointed to as a possible target for retaliation against
perpetrators of the terrorist attack Tuesday, September 11, 2001.
Here are some interesting things to consider.
"Osama bin Laden warned three weeks ago
that he and his followers would carry out an unprecedented attack on U.S.
interests for its support of Israel, an Arab journalist with access to him
said on Tuesday."

For the past twenty years Afghanistan has
been ravaged by wars. The Taliban, leader of Afghanistan's zealot
Islam reformists, has been able to reduce the production of Opium
products in his country from 75% of the world's production to zero in one
year. He insists (quote below) that his country, and people, be
treated as humans and not dictated to by Westerners.
"The West should understand that if they deal with us as humans, we are
humans, we can entertain them. But if they try to dictate (to) us it will be
counterproductive. We cannot bargain on our independence."
