Term: token
Definition: 1. (LAN protocols) the symbol of authority that is passed between stations using a token access method to indicate which station is currently in control of the medium; 2. a hand-held password generator designed to provide a unique password for each access attempt to a LAN (or other network) or multi-user computer system (see HPG).
