Term: network
Definition: (1) A system that sends and receives data and messages, typically over a cable. (2) A system of interconnected computer systems and terminals; (3) a series of points connected by communications channels; (4) the structure of relationships among a project's activities, tasks and events; (5) a group of nodes and the links interconnecting them. A network enables a group of computers to communicate with each other, share peripherals (such as hard disks and printers), and access remote hosts or other networks. see also communications network and/or computer network.
